The SCLC is made up of Chapters and Affiliates located across the United States. Memberships may be applied for through your local chapter or through the National Office. Chapters are the core of the SCLC and are a vital link in carrying out the mission of the organization.

How to Organize a Chapter

The Department of Chapters and Affiliates must be contacted concerning interest in starting a chapter.
The organizing chapter shall conduct an intensive membership campaign for at least 30 days.

How to Become an Affiliate

The Department of Chapters and Affliates must be contacted concerning interest in becoming an affiliate.
Already existing organizations, which subscribe to the philosophy of nonviolence and wish to be supportive of SCLC programs, may apply for affiliation by filling out an application.
